The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Food Systems examines the complex network of processes from food production to consumption and waste management, including the stakeholders involved and all influencing factors. This program offers five specialized tracks: Climate Change and Food Systems, Food Processing and Innovation, Justice, Equity, and Community Development, Leadership and Management, and Plant and Animal Production Systems. Students may also design a custom concentration in Sustainable Food Systems.
The Climate Change and Food Systems concentration delves into the reciprocal relationship between climate change and agricultural systems, teaching strategies to employ farming practices that both reduce environmental impact and adapt to changing conditions. Graduates will develop expertise valued across multiple industries, including farming operations, food manufacturing, supply chain logistics, and urban/community development planning.
