The Master of Education Special Emphasis program enables educators and professionals aiming to influence California's youth, families, and communities to tailor their studies to align with specific interests or career objectives. This MEd Special Emphasis curriculum is carefully crafted to address the needs of California's varied student population, with a focus on language acquisition, multicultural perspectives, and learner-centered teaching methods. For added convenience, the program is offered at several campus sites. Students pursuing the MEd in Special Emphasis can design their own academic path by selecting relevant graduate courses university-wide to explore their chosen subjects more thoroughly. The degree concludes with a capstone project or thesis designed to enhance teaching and leadership skills. The University of La Verne prioritizes flexibility for working educators in the MEd Special Emphasis program by offering classes during late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. This 33-unit program can be completed in a minimum of two years or extended up to five years.
