The University of La Verne's Department of History and Political Science blends two vital aspects of human understanding into a single interdisciplinary program. Exploring history helps contextualize the past to inform the future, while analyzing political developments equips students with knowledge of modern global issues. The comprehensive curriculum across all majors and minors encourages critical examination of the concepts, abilities, and reasoning behind transformative historical moments, influential figures, and foundational ideologies that have shaped society. Engage with global civilizations. Discuss timeless political theories. Develop the tools to influence both current events and historical narratives.
The International Studies program merges a specialized focus with a core curriculum that offers an interdisciplinary perspective on global communities, cultural systems, international law, economic exchange, and diplomatic relations.
