The Digital Media Program at ULV equips students with skills to navigate the evolving media landscape, providing hands-on experience for success in competitive fields. Learners can specialize in either Film and Television or Radio Broadcast and Digital Audio Production tracks. La Verne's Film and Television curriculum offers an immersive educational experience, preparing students for careers in both cinematic and television production. The program covers essential skills like narrative and documentary filmmaking, multi-camera production, and live sports/event coverage. Curriculum highlights include Screenwriting, Editing, Directing, Cinematography, and sound design. The Communications Department manages LVTV (La Verne Community Television) and KWST (San Dimas Community Television), giving film and TV students platforms to create diverse content such as sports coverage, political discussions, and local news programs. These stations have earned numerous national accolades from prestigious organizations including the Society for Professional Journalists, the Alliance for Community Media, and the Broadcast Education Association.
