This research examines teenagers aged 10 to 20 through an interdisciplinary social science lens, accounting for developmental contexts from immediate environments (like family and school) to broader societal influences (including cultural and national factors), while prioritizing youth health, adaptation, and life satisfaction. The Ph.D. program in family sciences offers a rigorous research-oriented curriculum emphasizing theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and statistical analysis. Additionally, all doctoral candidates gain hands-on teaching experience.

Write a 500-1000 word statement describing your personal goals and how a graduate degree in family sciences will help you to attain those goals. In your response, you are encouraged to:

Three letters of recommendation
A temporary waiver of the GRE score requirement is offered to graduate school applicants that seek admission for Fall 2021 and provide documented reasons related to Covid-19.
To apply for an assistantship, please attach a Word document indicating whether you would prefer to be considered for a full-time assistantship (20 hours per week) or a half-time assistantship (10 hours per week) For the Graduate School, the minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5
An overall grade point average of 2.75 on undergraduate work and 3.00 on all graduate work is required by the Graduate School.
