The Arts Administration program educates students on bridging audiences with the arts through nonprofit arts organizations. Participants develop expertise in fundraising, communications, marketing, financial oversight, and program development while complementing their studies with a fine arts minor. Practical experience forms a cornerstone of Arts Administration education. At the University of Kentucky, Arts Administration majors must fulfill an internship requirement. Beyond building professional skills, these placements emphasize community engagement—a core mission of arts institutions. Graduation requires completing at least six internship credit hours. Arts Administration students have gained experience with local arts groups, statewide organizations, and even nationally recognized institutions.
