The Art History & Visual Studies program provides two specialized pathways for undergraduate majors and minors, equipping students with skills for diverse careers in this expansive humanities field. The program strongly recommends internships for practical experience, with past students securing positions at the UK Art Museum and prestigious venues like New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Two primary academic routes are available: Art History concentrates on the evolution of visual arts, emphasizing fine art traditions within a liberal arts framework. Visual Studies presents an interdisciplinary approach, drawing from arts, design, humanities, social sciences, and sciences to examine visual culture's role across different societies and global perspectives.
