The Bachelor of Music program consists of 120 credit hours (including 45 upper-division credits at the 300 level) and aims to deepen students' expertise, skills, and practical experience in their selected specialization. Graduation requirements include maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA in major-specific courses and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA across all coursework.
Learners will receive instruction from faculty with national and international reputations. The curriculum encompasses music theory, music history, private lessons, and participation in ensembles and chamber groups. Every B.M. candidate must present a senior recital featuring their principal instrument or voice. Performance majors additionally present a junior recital, while composition majors showcase their original works in a dedicated recital. This degree prepares graduates for advanced music studies, private teaching careers, ensemble auditions, or diverse professional opportunities within the music field.
