The Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) equips students with the expertise to design and implement teaching strategies for instrumental, vocal, and general music education settings. The program blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications of human behavior and musical concepts, while incorporating diverse learning opportunities to ready future educators for real-world teaching environments. Students gain hands-on experience through university coursework and local classroom placements, covering essential areas like instructional planning, classroom organization, conducting techniques, student evaluation, and curriculum development. The program allows for specialization through selected performance focuses and ensemble participation. Ultimately, the music education curriculum aims to cultivate professional readiness for aspiring music educators.
Admission will be granted to students who meet the following standard:
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous coursework, including transfer coursework.
English Proficiency:
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 79 (18 minimum subscore)
TOEFL paper-delivered test: 60 (18 minimum subscore)
IELTS: 6.5 (6.0 minimum subscore)
