The Department of Film and Media Studies bridges scholarly research with creative artistry, fostering collaboration between academics and media practitioners in a supportive community.
Located in Summerfield Hall, the department offers students access to modernized production facilities for hands-on film and video experience. While both B.A. and B.G.S. programs are available, their curricula differ significantly - students should consult with departmental advisors. The B.A. program provides comprehensive film and media education for those pursuing advanced degrees, whereas the B.G.S. program emphasizes practical training in film and video production.
Admission will be granted to students who meet the following standard:
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous coursework, including transfer coursework.
English Proficiency:
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 79 (18 minimum subscore)
TOEFL paper-delivered test: 60 (18 minimum subscore)
