The Department provides a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), a Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.), along with minors in African & African-American Studies and African & African Diasporic Languages.
Students pursuing an AAAS major or minor can focus their studies in specialized areas such as African Studies, African-American Studies, Arabic & Islamic Studies, or Haitian Studies. Alternatively, they may opt for an interdisciplinary approach by combining courses across these concentrations. The African & African Diasporic Languages minor is designed for advanced language learners, offering options in Arabic, Haitian-Creole, KiSwahili, and Wolof.
