The Industrial Design (ID) curriculum equips students with skills to envision, create, and enhance everyday products, tools, and equipment.
All manufactured items we encounter - from household fixtures to gadgets, shoes to playthings, healthcare instruments to athletic equipment - result from industrial design work. KU's ID program provides comprehensive training in product conception, development, and production through a user-focused, career-oriented methodology. Graduates leave prepared to develop creative, aesthetically pleasing, and eco-friendly designs that enhance products, companies, and quality of life.
The BFA in Design with an Industrial Design specialization follows a structured four-year course progression starting from the fall term of admission. Studio courses are generally offered in specific semesters and cannot be completed through accelerated scheduling.
