The Illustration program equips creative students with skills to craft compelling visual and interactive content that educates, entertains, and motivates. Illustrators and animators bring concepts to life, enhance storytelling, and construct immersive worlds through innovative visual approaches. Students master design principles, critical thinking, and communication strategies to achieve professional proficiency in visual project creation. KU Illustration alumni find success across traditional and digital platforms in publishing, entertainment, gaming, animation, apparel design, marketing, and other industries.
The BFA in Design with an Illustration focus follows a structured four-year curriculum beginning in the fall semester of admission. Studio courses are generally offered in specific semesters (fall or spring) and cannot be completed through an accelerated schedule.
