The department typically provides the master's degree primarily as a stepping stone toward earning a PhD in Political Science. Students will:
show comprehensive understanding of two primary fields in the discipline and proficiency in one secondary field (which may be interdisciplinary or from a related field),
exhibit advanced research capabilities, including sophisticated statistical analysis and familiarity with diverse theoretical and methodological approaches pertinent to their research area,
display effective teaching abilities aligned with the discipline's pedagogical expectations,
understand and adhere to professional standards, including ethical considerations in research, teaching, and professional interactions, and
possess thorough knowledge of the research process, including critically evaluating existing work and producing meaningful, original contributions to the field.
