Our two-year Master of Arts in anthropology equips students with specialized knowledge in archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, or anthropological linguistics, preparing them for further graduate studies or professional careers in anthropology and related disciplines. The program requires students to conduct original research through fieldwork, archival studies, or laboratory work. Additionally, the department provides a specialized M.A. track in Cultural Resource Management-Archaeology (CRM), designed to offer academic training for careers in CRM-Archaeology. During their first semester, students must form an M.A. committee comprising an advisor and two other faculty members. Annually, students work with their advisor to assemble their three best papers from anthropology courses, conferences, or journals, along with an annotated bibliography, an updated CV, and a three-page narrative outlining their academic progress in the M.A. program.
