Immunology bridges molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and genetics with clinical medicine. Established in 1993, the Immunology Graduate Program has consistently drawn top-tier scientists who collaborate closely to uphold an exceptional training environment focused on graduate education and pioneering immunological research. The program now boasts 40 faculty members spanning 10 Departments and 2 Colleges. It enjoys widespread recognition among peer institutions and ranked among the top ten public US Immunology programs for global research reputation in the 2019 US News and World Report.

State-of-the-art core facilities provide researchers access to cutting-edge technologies. Regular journal clubs and discussion groups enhance a distinguished weekly seminar series featuring both University of Iowa faculty and internationally renowned immunologists.
