The Department of Educational Psychology pursues its academic and instructional goals through two primary objectives: (1) investigating and implementing psychological theories to create educational strategies. Faculty members achieve this through foundational and applied research examining cognitive, developmental, social-emotional, and cultural influences on learning, behavior, and academic success, and (2) examining educational research methods while advancing quantitative, qualitative, and evaluative approaches that support evidence-based, policy-oriented studies. The department trains doctoral candidates for roles as academics, counseling professionals, researchers, assessment experts, and evaluation specialists. Additionally, it provides multiple Master of Education (Ed.M.) degree programs.
