The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program at the Illinois School of Architecture is the professional degree designed for students holding a B.S. in Architecture or equivalent qualification by enrollment time. This NAAB-accredited program prepares graduates for professional architectural practice and qualification for NCARB's licensing exam. The two-year curriculum includes design studios, core courses, and electives, requiring 62 graduate credit hours to complete. Through the detail FABRICATION Program, faculty and students investigate architecture as a creative construction process, focusing on modern material experimentation and theoretical approaches. Architectural education aims to equip students to meaningfully enhance our physical surroundings. Detail FABRICATION courses merge conceptual detailing with practical material exploration, teaching methods to develop comprehensive design solutions - particularly human-scale elements and the inspiring spaces they create.
