The Department of Materials Science and Engineering provides graduate programs culminating in Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Materials Science and Engineering. With approximately 200 students and faculty members from diverse scientific and engineering backgrounds, the department fosters a rich academic environment. Research spans numerous specialties, allowing students to focus on specific materials science fields such as ceramics, metals, polymers, electronic materials, biomaterials, and composites. The MatSE Department promotes interdisciplinary studies, frequently collaborating with other engineering disciplines.
