The Psychology curriculum offers a comprehensive, research-oriented program. This flexible course of study caters to students seeking a liberal arts education centered on psychology, as well as those preparing for graduate studies in psychology or related fields like medicine, law, social work, business, counseling, and labor relations. The Psychology major delivers both specialized and broad understanding through required coursework including introductory classes, statistics, foundational core subjects, research methodology, and specialized electives. Most concentrations feature dedicated core courses and tailored research methods classes, except for the intradisciplinary psychology track. When planning their academic path, students may choose either the intradisciplinary option to pursue personalized interests or select from specialized concentrations. Undergraduates can engage in hands-on research by joining laboratory projects. The Undergraduate Advising Office assists students in designing customized study and research plans. Cognitive neuroscience focuses on exploring the neural mechanisms underlying mental processes, utilizing diverse techniques to examine brain systems involved in functions like memory, attention, language, decision-making, and emotional processing.
