Personality psychology examines individual behavioral patterns. This field seeks to comprehend and characterize personal conduct while forecasting future actions. Students pursuing psychology explore both human and animal behavior, spanning from cellular-level analysis to individual case studies, and from small social circles to larger communities. They develop expertise in statistical evaluation, grasp the biological foundations of behavior, and master various research approaches and methods.
The Psychology Department ranks among the top institutions for psychology education at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Around 100 instructors and higher-ranking professionals are associated with the Department, with approximately 60 holding permanent full-time faculty positions. The faculty enjoys global recognition for their outstanding contributions and pioneering work in their respective specialties. These scholars hold editorial positions in academic publications, leadership roles in professional associations, and provide counsel to political figures, governmental bodies, major businesses, and non-profit entities.
