The Bachelor of Science in Geology Specialized Curriculum prepares students for graduate studies in geology or geophysics, or for professional careers in environmental sciences. This program focuses on three key disciplines: geology, geophysics, and environmental geology, providing more intensive scientific training than the standard geology major in the Sciences and Letters Curriculum. Students select a concentration from these options: Geology, Geophysics, or Environmental Geology.
The geology track explores Earth's systems from surface processes to its core, along with our planet's 4.6-billion-year evolution. This field addresses critical challenges including mining environmental effects, natural resource exploration, hazard assessment, and other pressing societal concerns.
