The Computer Science program offers comprehensive training in both theoretical and practical aspects of computer systems, with a strong focus on software development. Given computing's pervasive nature, its applications span nearly every conceivable domain - from crafting DNA sequencing algorithms through computational biology methods, to engineering mobile app interfaces, from developing high-speed trading strategies, to producing digital visuals and effects for video games, and from building real-time embedded systems for medical equipment, to examining online social interaction data. The initial two years establish robust fundamentals in mathematics, science, and computing. The subsequent years feature specialized courses in core technical subjects and student-selected concentrations. Alumni frequently pursue advanced degrees or assume prominent roles in the technology sector.

Qualification Requirements
A first-year applicant is a degree-seeking student who applies for admission while attending high school and/or hasnt graduated yet, regardless of the amount of college degree credit earned, or is a student enrolled in the fall term who attended college for the first time in the prior summer term, or who, since graduating from high school, hasnt attended another postsecondary institution as a degree-seeking undergraduate student.
A beginning first-year student is required to remain in the academic community and the prescribed first-year program to which they have been admitted for at least two semesters of full-time study.
ACT/SAT
If you choose to report your scores, enter your highest test scores for the ACT composite and/or the SAT total without super-scoring, along with the highest sub-scores you earned in each category regardless of test date. We don't require or use the ACT writing test.
TOEFL iBT/IELTS/Duolingo English Test
If you're including these scores, you should report your highest TOEFL iBT (do not use MyBest score), IELTS Academic, IELTS or Indicator, or Duolingo English Test score and highest sub-scores, regardless of test date. Test scores that will be used to fulfill the English proficiency requirement must be taken within two years of the applicant's date of enrollment in the university. The Duolingo English Test and the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition will be accepted for fall 2024.
