This program offers comprehensive training in environmental chemistry, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers as environmental chemists in both public and private organizations, or for advanced studies in the field. Graduates will earn American Chemical Society (ACS) certification in environmental chemistry. The Environmental Chemistry Concentration follows the Specialized Curriculum in Chemistry framework, requiring students to complete a 300-level environmental chemistry course (3 credit hours) along with three upper-level technical courses (3 credit hours each) focused on environmental topics. These courses count toward the 14 credit hours of technical electives required for the Specialized Chemistry Curriculum.
