In this program, students serve as designers, technicians, managers, artisans, and crew members for numerous theater, musical theater, dance, and opera productions at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, taking on diverse roles throughout their academic journey. They develop sophisticated skills in analyzing, interpreting, and writing critically and creatively about theater and performance, while engaging in thoughtful discussions. The curriculum emphasizes active participation in the collaborative process of preparing, constructing, and performing stage works. Students apply learned methodologies practically, effectively communicating ideas, concepts, and requirements to fulfill costume design and technology roles in productions. They gain comprehensive understanding of professional standards across theater, musical theater, opera, and dance genres.
