The Foreign Language Teacher Education program includes both the Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Foreign Language (BAT) degree and a licensure pathway for teaching certification. The BAT is an undergraduate option allowing students to obtain their degree and teaching credentials at the same time. For graduate students holding an MA or PhD who want teaching certification, only the licensure component is required. Currently, the BAT program supports aspiring teachers of French, German, Latin, and Spanish, while graduate licensure options are restricted to Latin and Spanish.
