UIS's Chemistry Major equips students for immediate careers in chemistry or advanced studies in graduate or professional schools. The American Chemical Society has accredited UIS's Chemistry Program. This program's coursework is structured to ready students for professional chemistry roles or continued education. The department holds accreditation from the American Chemical Society's Committee on Professional Training. Students can earn ACS certification in general chemistry or chemistry with a biochemistry specialization through our program.
