UIC's Master of Science in Kinesiology explores how physical fitness and strength connect to overall well-being, benefiting everyone from elite athletes to individuals managing health challenges.
The program trains specialists who analyze human movement through biomechanical, physiological, and psychological perspectives. Students work with distinguished faculty who pioneer research in exercise science, movement analysis, and the mental aspects of physical activity.
The biomechanics specialization delves into the study of human movement patterns, offering advanced training in motion analysis along with suggested courses covering walking mechanics, tissue dynamics, and movement coordination principles.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants are considered on an individual basis. Complete transcripts of all undergraduate and any graduate work must be submitted. In addition to the Graduate College minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following program requirements:
Baccalaureate Field Applicants for graduate study may come from the entire spectrum of undergraduate fields, or from other health professions such as medicine or nursing. A degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science or from a related area is preferred for applicants to the Clinical Exercise Physiology concentration. Some applicants may not meet all course prerequisites without having to take selected additional undergraduate course work. Minimum prerequisites for full admission to graduate study can be obtained from the department.
Grade Point Average At least 3.00/4.00 for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study and 3.50/4.00 for all graduate work
New Paper-Based TOEFL (after August 2018) of 60, with subscores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Writing 21, Institutional Testing Paper-Based TOEFL (prior to August 2018) of 550.

TOEFL - 80 (Listening-17, Writing- 21, Reading- 19, Speaking- 20)
