The Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at UIC equips students with specialized expertise while offering flexible options to tailor the curriculum to individual goals.

Students can select from three pathways: a traditional two-year option, an accelerated one-year track, or a combined 4+1 program enabling undergraduates to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees within five years.

All program formats cover fundamental chemical engineering principles including fluid dynamics at various scales, thermal and transport phenomena, thermodynamic systems analysis, reaction kinetics, and process evaluation. These competencies prepare graduates for diverse applications ranging from energy systems and advanced materials to bioprocessing and environmental solutions.
