The College of Education provides graduate programs culminating in a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership, featuring two specialization tracks: Educational Studies and Policy Studies. These MEd programs cater to current and aspiring educators, researchers, and school administrators. Students collaborate with faculty, fellow graduate scholars, and local partners to gain hands-on research experience within Chicago's educational institutions and community organizations. The MEd program can be completed in 1-2 years by full-time participants.

A degree award certificate or diploma should be submitted for all completed degree programs.
Applicants to all concentrations must also submit transcripts from all postbaccalaureate work. In addition to the Graduate College minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following program requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Field No restrictions.
  • Grade Point Average
    • Policy Studies: Requires a 3.00/4.00 for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study and for all postbaccalaureate/graduate coursework.
    • Other Concentrations: Recommended minimum of 2.75/4.00 for the final 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of undergraduate study and at least 3.00/4.00 for all postbaccalaureate/graduate coursework.
