The Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on Integrated Health Studies (IHS) provides a distinctive, interdisciplinary pathway for students aiming for careers in health sciences. Supported collaboratively by the LAS Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychology, and based in Biological Sciences, this major benefits from partnerships across multiple UIC departments and colleges, creating a uniquely broad academic experience. The program's core objective is to deliver a varied, cross-disciplinary curriculum encompassing life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It examines human health through a multifaceted lens, exploring everything from genetic factors to societal influences.

Students have the option to specialize in one of two tracks: Health and Science or Behavioral Health.

The Behavioral Health track particularly suits those pursuing careers in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, as well as health education, psychology, and disability/human development fields.
