Chemical engineering explores how chemistry can enhance our world. Chemical engineers transform raw materials into practical products by solving complex challenges. Our undergraduate curriculum provides deep training in fundamental chemistry principles—general, organic, physical, and analytical—before advancing to specialized chemical engineering classes that teach you to harness these concepts for creative engineering solutions.
The program's capstone is the Senior Design course, where student teams collaborate with industry professionals to tackle meaningful real-world challenges. Past initiatives have included producing biofuels from wood waste, employing chemical solvents to minimize carbon emissions, and addressing the growing need for propylene worldwide. Senior Design lets you dedicate two semesters to a project you care deeply about, while gaining hands-on experience that strengthens your career prospects.
