UIC's four-year Urban Studies program equips students to examine and ultimately reshape cities after graduation. Through our department focused solely on urban environments, learners explore city challenges from diverse academic and practical viewpoints.
This pre-professional Urban Studies degree (previously called Urban and Public Affairs) readies students for urban careers or advanced studies. The curriculum develops expertise in urban complexity while allowing focus on specific city-related challenges. Additionally, students can pursue internships and develop essential urban planning skills including research, technology, and policy analysis.
First-year applicants are currently enrolled in high school or have not attended college since graduation.
