The Economics Department provides a Bachelor of Arts program focused on Economics. This curriculum delivers education about economic systems along with a solid grounding in analytical methods and practical applications of economics, utilizing mathematical and statistical approaches. Students explore how pricing mechanisms function, how individuals, businesses, and governments distribute limited resources, and the factors affecting national productivity, price levels, joblessness, economic expansion, and global commerce. The program also examines legal frameworks, rules, and organizational structures that impact economic processes. Following foundational courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics, students progress to higher-level classes where they can implement economic theories across various fields such as financial markets, urban development, workforce economics, and global commerce. The department provides both theory-heavy courses for those interested in abstract modeling and practical classes emphasizing real-world policies and business applications.
