The Linguistics Concentration immerses students in the systematic analysis of languages. Alongside core classes exploring linguistic structures, language evolution, and sociolinguistics, participants investigate how language learning intersects with teaching methods. The University of Idaho's English Department provides adaptable, rewarding academic paths with diverse specializations. Learners may opt for either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science track. The B.A. offers a comprehensive English degree or four concentration choices (18 credits out of 45 major requirements) in creative writing, linguistics, literary studies, or professional writing. The B.S. focuses on Technical Writing or a general English degree, available through online or on-campus formats in Moscow.
