Master of Social Work in Macro Practice in Houston United States | University of Houston

The Face to Face MSW program equips students for careers in clinical or macro social work. Classes are mainly held in person at the University of Houston's main campus, offering access to two specialized practice areas, four concentration options, and four dual degree opportunities. This full-time program primarily operates during daytime hours and cannot be completed solely through evening classes. Both Advanced Standing and traditional program paths are offered in the Face to Face format.

The Macro Practice specialization trains students to address urban challenges by serving diverse, at-risk populations through professional leadership. Graduates develop skills to drive meaningful social transformation within communities, public institutions, and private organizations, fostering empowerment across individuals, agencies, and neighborhoods. The curriculum builds foundational knowledge and practical abilities for intervention at community, organizational, societal, and international levels, preparing graduates for leadership roles as advocates, administrators, policy developers, researchers, and organizational strengtheners.
