The program provides an interdisciplinary undergraduate major in WGSS, along with minors in Women's Studies and GLBT Studies. The major requires five core WGSS courses plus five approved cross-listed electives. For the minors, students begin with introductory WGSS courses before selecting five electives from WGSS offerings, humanities, fine arts, and social/health sciences (consult advisors for specific requirements). Each semester features fifteen to twenty-five undergraduate course options. Subject areas encompass: Feminist Theory and Gender in Society, Queer Theory and Sexuality, Global Gender Perspectives, Intersectional Studies of Race, Class, Age, Disability, Sexuality & Gender, Human Sexuality and Health, Gender Psychology, Political Representation of Women, Historical Perspectives on US Women since 1840, Philosophical Feminism, Literary Works by Women, Cinematic Gender Studies, Latin American Women's Studies, LGBTQ Literature, Family Sociology, Media and Gender Studies, among others. These minors are available to all students across all majors.
