The University of Houston's Dance program aims to build student confidence through rigorous dance training and developing collaborative creativity skills.
Our program provides multiple degree paths including a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Bachelor of Arts in Dance, Dance Minor, and coursework for Secondary Education Dance Teaching Certification.
Those pursuing Dance Teaching Certification should combine the B.A. in Dance with the College of Education's Teacher Education Program to complete their minor requirements.
We empower students to discover their artistic voice through dance, cultivate intellectual curiosity, and equip them with essential skills like analytical thinking and creative solutions. The program serves as Houston's dance hub, offering workshops, partnerships, performances, and initiatives through our Center for Choreography.
