The University of Hawaii at Mānoa holds full accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). As the flagship campus of Hawaii's public university system, UH Mānoa serves more than 20,000 students in Honolulu.
The Music Department provides a Master of Arts in Music Education program, available through two distinct tracks. Track 1 is designed for educators holding a BEd or equivalent degree who are currently employed in school settings.
Track 2 caters to music graduates who don't possess a teaching license or prior classroom experience in music education.

Graduate Applicants must also submit the following to the Music Department by the appropriate deadline:
Graduate Division requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for unconditional admission
three confidential recommendation letters (not more than two years old) to be uploaded via the application portal, Mklei
a copy of a transcript from each post secondary institution attended. Official transcripts sent directly from the institution in a sealed institutional envelope must be submitted after the student is admitted. Transcripts are not required for any coursework completed at any of the UH campuses since Graduate Admissions will obtain UH transcripts on behalf of applicants,
540(P), 207 (C) or 76(I) for all other master's students.
