The Asian Studies Department provides two Master's degree programs: the Master of Arts in Asian Studies (MAAS) and the Master's in Asian International Affairs (MAIA), along with Graduate Certificates in Asian Studies and specific regional studies through SPAS area centers.
The program emphasizes an interdisciplinary area studies methodology, enabling students to employ diverse academic perspectives for a comprehensive understanding of Asia and its distinct cultural regions.

Students who are admitted with TOEFL scores between 61-100 will be required to attend courses in the English Language Institute, in addition to all Asian Studies Program requirements.
