The Bachelor of Science program requires completing a minimum of 121 credit hours. The curriculum includes mandatory courses designed to equip students with essential tools for mechanical engineering practice and foster professional responsibility. Lower-division coursework establishes foundations in basic sciences and mathematics, introduces engineering design and ethics, develops communication and programming abilities, and cultivates appreciation for humanities and social sciences. Upper-division studies build upon this foundation with engineering science fundamentals, applications in energy conversion, mechanical systems, controls, experimentation, and manufacturing, while promoting creative expression through a culminating capstone design project. Technical electives provide flexibility for students to develop specialized expertise aligned with their career goals, with all elective selections requiring advisor approval.
