When students enroll in similar courses with varying emphases (such as CHN 101 and 111), both grades appear on their transcripts, but only one course's credits can apply toward degree completion. This credit adjustment might impact financial aid or Veterans Affairs benefits for recipients.
Instructors may waive prerequisites for certain Chinese courses for students with prior language experience who have taken a placement test. Chinese majors must meet with their faculty advisor or the Undergraduate Advisor (Moore 390) before registering each term. Students considering our graduate program should also consult their advisor about their plans.
