Our close-knit graduate program provides students with numerous performance and educational opportunities, along with personalized career development experiences guided by faculty and visiting artists/lecturers.
Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree in music from an accredited institution or an equivalent foreign university. The Graduate Studies Committee will evaluate whether an applicant's qualifications match the bachelor's degree standard. Some candidates may need to complete a specialized assessment to verify their proficiency level or readiness for Hartt's degree programs.
Hartt's horn studio fosters a collaborative environment where students regularly work together across disciplines. With weekly private lessons and studio classes, the curriculum emphasizes small ensemble and solo performance. Students benefit from well-rounded musical education, cultivating creative approaches and professional skills while interacting with acclaimed musicians (recent guests include Gene Pokorney from CSO, Julie Landsman of The Met, and Ray Mase from ABQ).
