The Music Education Division at Hartt provides one of the country's most extensive music study programs. Blending intensive conservatory instruction with a strong base in music education, this curriculum equips students for careers teaching music in elementary and secondary schools. Beyond general music instruction, majors specializing in music education receive training in choral music, wind and string instrument teaching methods, as well as pedagogical approaches like Kod√°ly, Suzuki, and Orff. Hartt's MMEd programs cater to music teachers seeking advanced specialization in particular areas such as conducting, Kod√°ly techniques, or educational research. Offering various focus areas, these programs empower educators to develop expertise in their chosen specialization.
