This distinguished program stands as the nation's sole low-residency MFA focused solely on illustration. Whether you aim to enter academia, reignite your artistic passion, or transform your professional portfolio, you can achieve an MFA in Illustration without pausing your current career or personal obligations. You'll join a community of driven peers—accomplished illustrators, designer-illustrators, and illustration instructors from around the country. Through rigorous coursework and close mentorship, you'll develop your unique artistic vision while enhancing your technical abilities. All Master of Fine Arts in Illustration candidates are required to maintain continuous enrollment in the program and a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
International applicants are preferred to be proficient in English — or have TOEFL, PTE or IELTS if you are not a native speaker of the English Language. Average TOEFL scores for students range from a minimum of 80 (Internet Based Total), and 550 (Paper Based Total). The minimum score for the PTE is a 58. IELTS minimum score for graduate studies is 6.5.
