At The Hartt School, trombone students benefit from an all-encompassing musical education. The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program cultivates well-rounded musicians by focusing on exceptional artistry and academic understanding. Every curriculum is structured to equip graduates for top-tier careers in performance, instruction, or composition. Typically, the DMA requires at least two additional years of study after earning a master's degree. Students must maintain full-time enrollment during their first year, completing no fewer than 9 credits each semester. A summer term before the residency period is allowed. All DMA coursework must be finished within seven years of initial enrollment.
