This field examines policy, governance, and legal systems, offering insights into how power, authority, influence, control, freedom, wealth, and other political resources are contested, obtained, and allocated. Students also learn how these elements translate into public policies, governmental structures, and legislation.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Government will: Gain knowledge of political systems and institutions operating at local, national, and global levels. Acquire the ability to interpret diverse materials that describe, analyze, and assess political events while developing thoughtful perspectives on their own political beliefs. Learn to recognize, utilize, and critique political arguments. Develop proficiency in understanding, applying, and assessing various quantitative and qualitative research methods in political science. Master the application of this knowledge and these competencies through both spoken and written communication.
