The Master of Science (MS) is an advanced research-focused degree tailored for individuals seeking deep expertise in specific academic or scientific disciplines. This program caters to students aiming for careers in academia, research, or specialized professional roles, as well as those preparing for doctoral studies. To earn the MS, candidates must complete a thesis along with at least 30 semester hours of graduate coursework, including 12 hours in exclusive graduate-level classes and 3 hours dedicated to FORS 7300 (thesis research).

We welcome applications from those who hold baccalaureate degrees in forest resources, fisheries, wildlife or other areas. While we often receive applications from students with a variety of undergraduate degrees, note that if your degree is in an area different from your intended emphasis in graduate school, you may need to complete additional course work.
