The Master of Science in Engineering offers students a challenging, flexible curriculum and research setting that equips them to synthesize findings across various domains and tackle challenges that span conventional academic boundaries.

The MS-E program delivers a demanding yet adaptable academic framework and research opportunities that enable students to combine insights from diverse areas and solve multi-dimensional challenges exceeding traditional engineering fields. It offers comprehensive education in science and engineering focused on addressing intricate issues that cross specialized engineering domains. This program mandates twenty-four credit hours of coursework, featuring ENGR 6910 (Research Methods) and one seminar credit (ENGR 8950). Additionally, six thesis research credits are required. Students are encouraged to complete six math credits and six statistics credits, with remaining courses aligned with their thesis focus. For more information, please consult the graduate coordinator.

Qualification Requirements
Completion of a B.S. and M.S. (for Ph.D. applicants) with minimum GPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00) from an ABET accredited program or program in a related field. The average undergraduate GPA and graduate GPA of recent accepted students is 3.4 and 3.6, respectively.
UGA will accept satisfactory scores on either the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo language proficiency examinations. Scores must be reported to UGA electronically by the testing agency.
The minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing
The minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
Unofficial transcripts are required for the review process. If accepted, you must submit official transcripts prior to matriculation.
Statement of purpose to include your goals in pursuing graduate study, research experience, names of faculty with whom youd like to work, as well as explanations for any perceived deficiencies in your application.
