The Master of Public Health (MPH) program was created to meet the growing demand for skilled public health practitioners.
Through academic instruction and hands-on fieldwork, MPH candidates gain the expertise needed to serve and lead in public health initiatives across Georgia, nationally, and internationally. This two-year program at the University of Georgia College of Public Health caters both to healthcare professionals seeking advanced training and to students pursuing careers in public health.
The program offers seven specialization tracks: Biostatistics, Disaster Management, Environmental Health Science, Epidemiology, Gerontology, Health Policy and Management, and Health Promotion and Behavior. Additionally, students can combine their MPH studies with undergraduate or graduate degrees in other disciplines through various dual-degree opportunities.
The M.P.H. curriculum consists of at least 44 credit hours, which includes a 6-credit Applied Practice Experience. Graduation requirements also involve successfully completing a final capstone project worth 3 credits.
